Polo Ponies

Polo Ponies, alfalfa hay

I stand by what I do, but I don't do half what I say

There's something about you that I'm struggling to explain

And I'm drunk as all can be

But I still love you the same

And you can take the boy out his home

But he'll struggle to find a replacement

Was never one to be graceful

You've never been nothing but gracious

Was never one to give thanks, but

I want for not

I want for not

Polo Ponies lined up and dying days of youth

Can't stand cigarettes, my hands crave something to do

They crave something else, it's true

And I'm drunk, drunk as all can be

All I'm wanting for is you

Wanting for is you

But I still love you the same

And you can take the boy out his home

But he'll struggle to find a replacement

Was never one to be graceful

You've never been nothing but gracious

Was never one to give thanks, but

I want for not

I want for not

Polo Ponies played out, and my father's driving home

I light a cigarette out the window, I let it go

I thank God for everything, but I thank God for you the most

I thank God for everything

I just had to let you know, I want for not
