Never was a Christian, baby, now all I do is pray

You said you miss me every day

And I'll be frank, I feel the same

I realize now what was apparent

Oh, I worshipped you and that's what tore us apart

Apart, I try too hard to make amends

And make it up to people I hate with all my heart

And the people I hate from the goddamn start

I—

Never was a Christian, baby, now all I do is pray

And all you do is tell me lies

We've been down this road a hundred times

A hundred and one, girl, I don't mind

Never been one for the stuff, girl

But cut up a line for me and for you

I haven't seen you in a minute, but I swear that I was trying to

And I won't openly admit it, but I swear that I was dying to

See you

I wanna take you back, but I just can't

No, I just can't

I wish I made it last, but that ain't happen at all, at all

But, baby, I was never better than this if we're honest, and

Never better than this if we're honest, and

We were a swing and a miss if we're honest, and

We were a swing and a miss if we're honest

I never was a Christian, baby, now all I do is pray

And all you do is tell me lies

We've been down this road a hundred times

A hundred and one, girl, I don't mind

Never been one for the stuff, girl

But cut up a line for me and for you

I haven't seen you in a minute, but I swear that I was trying to

And I won't openly admit it, but I swear that I was dying to

Never was a Christian, baby, now all I do is pray
